Allô François

Tu es probablement fou de faire ce périple mais c'est une belle folie. Profite-en bien.
À bientôt! Lise xx

87 km today

The guys are in Crawford Bay. Francois will post tomorrow as they dont have an internet connection there. They have travelled 87km today.
I'm happy they had a relatively easy day on the road.

Oh My E-god!

I Can't Believe What You're Doing!!!! Have You Officially Lost Your Mind?

Wow! I Am Amazed That There Are People Out There Who Want To Do These Sort Of Things. WHO BIKES ACROSS CANADA? THEY INVENTED AIRPLANES FOR A REASON! I Thought Running 15kms Was Exhausting!

All The Best & Looking Forward To SEEING YOU WHEN YOU'RE BACK IN TOWN! :D

All by myself...

Well, today was your last day as a pack and tomorrow you head off on your own. I hope the past week has given you enough momentum to peddle your hiney off to Ontario to come and see us.

I'm glad all the locals have been super nice to all of you, sounds like we'll have to visit some of these places again. I look forward to a few road trips for that purpose.

Rest well and eat lots.
We'll talk to you soon,
m.

Hey, man, it seems you are doing OK despite the weather today. :p
Good job so far - even though I'm not writing much we are following your progress almost daily. Keep going, keep going, you have a long way to go! Say hi to Carl and Jim as well. Oh, yeah, and keep posting photos -- this is becoming our virtual tour across Canada.

hi to all other folks from Telus on this forum :D

:) Looks like you're finishing the toughest part of Canada's mountain ranges. You're awesome. I hope you're doing well and that you're keeping hydrated. And remember that Mary-Anne is in Brooks AB. That's right off your route!!!

I'm curious, what's the grade like on that Summit? I haven't seen it yet, but I was told that just west of Anahim Lake BC where I had a circuit court, there's an 18% grade hill. I was told it is something.

Hi Anna,
I don't think we did anything close to 18% grade. I'm not sure what the grade limits for highways are, but i'm fairly sure trucks can't make it up anything like 18%, and I don't think I could either. :-)

The toughest part is definitely behind me and my legs are feeling better already.

As for Brooks, AB, its actually way off of my route. I'm following the #3, not the trans canada, so Brooks would be a large detour :(

Hope all is well with you and family.

Couldn't resist the pun about ups and downs, what with all your tales of going up and down those summits.

Anyway, to answer your question about "Mark Brunett", I would imagine the person who mentioned him meant "Mark Burnett", creator of the Eco-Challenge and Survivor tv shows.

And, if the iPod doesn't dry out, you can always start humming all those bits of famous tunes stuck in your brain somewhere (and you'll soon find out if you're crazy or not).... Here's a few choice tips appropriate to your trek.

Flintstones. Meet the Flintstones. ...

Rawhide
Rollin’ rollin’ rollin’
Rollin’ rollin’ rollin’
Rollin’ rollin’ rollin’
Rollin’ rollin’ rollin’

Rollin’ rollin’ rollin’
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them doggies rolling
Rawhide
Rain and wind and weather
Hell bent for leather
Wishing my girl was by my side
All the things I’m missin’
Good victuals, love and kissin’
Are waiting at the end of my ride

Fortunately the iPod dried out and is fully functional again. Without it I often find myself singing kids songs, mostly Raffi stuff and The Wiggles.

Hey Agnes. Its great to hear from you. Its been a long time.

Yes, I think we've already concluded that I have lost my mind :) Sure is fun to lose ones mind and do something like this though. Give it a try and see.

My father and I

Hi,

My dad showed me this site yesterday. I really like the pictures of the mountains and tunnels. I just recently learned to ride my bike and when I see that you can ride yours to all these places, I want to get on my bike and do the same.

I think my dad would like to be with you on his big bike. It is not a fast bike, but I think he could do it. Maybe when I get bigger I can go with my dad on a big bike ride just like you.

Ben.
